World We Dare to Imagine Part 3 - Pitch

Map Your Impact

Guides users to causes and demonstrates the effect people can have locally and globally

Introduction

As a college student, it can be daunting to think about your impact on the world. News stories highlight young adults around the world who are changing the lives of others on a large scale, and it can feel like you have no way to make an impact on anything. One thing to remember is that no act of kindness is too small, and changing the world for one person is a great way to start.

Another issue that people looking to help face is the inability to find reliable causes they are passionate about. Large-scale operations sometimes have an advertising budget, but small causes struggle to find supporters and put their names out there. People are more than willing to help if they can easily find causes and experiences to aid.

What is the proposal?

We propose to create an app that guides people to causes. This app will be a way for people to match to causes that they can support. It will allow users to find local and global causes with an understandable user interface. Some features of this app will include:

Personality and interest survey: Surveys will allow the algorithm to match people to causes within their realm of interest. Additionally, it will get people thinking about what they’re passionate about and maybe spark ideas for or interest in other topics.

Lists of opportunities: Once the users take surveys, they will be provided a list of opportunities. If they desire, users can help these causes. The opportunities will be sorted by location, scale, and fit.

Challenges: Challenges will be offered app-wide such as “reducing food waste”, “reducing carbon footprint”, or “supporting local causes”. Users can enter these challenges and compete against other individuals.

Articles education on global issues: Education allows for voices around the world to be heard. Articles will be included for people to educate themselves on these issues and decide if they want to help out.

Community discussion boards: Users will be able to communicate with others in their communities and allow their own voices to be heard.

The target audience of this app will be young adults 18-34, mainly college students, young professionals, and companies that are passionate about giving back and activism. These groups are often busy and overwhelmed, but they still want to help where they can. Making the process of finding ways to help simple for them will allow more people to be activists and support causes they are passionate about.

What Makes Us Unique?

Many volunteering organizations are either a big commitment or very uninvolved. This business idea allows people with different time constraints or levels of experience to try their hand at volunteering. Even small acts of service can make a large impact on the lives of others, and this app shows that no intention to help is too little. We allow anyone and everyone to participate on their own time, whether they have an afternoon to do good or years of experience volunteering.

Why Support Us?

Anima Mundi Development Partners should support our cause because it helps bring people to opportunities. We plan to grow public interest in volunteering and hope to make a small-scale change in homes that leads to a large-scale impact on the world. We supply people around the world with tools to help others and give a platform to causes and voices that might be in the shadows. By investing in this app, AMDP will help to start a movement and inspire people, young and old, to support other humans around the world. No act is too small.

Our Ask

We ask for an initial investment of 500,000 dollars to aid in the development, operations, and marketing to fuel the beginning stages of this app. The investment will allow us to spread the word about our app and get users paired with organizations. From there, we can grow our user base and hopefully pair with other organizations around the world.

Thank you!
